That's usually what high pinion dana 44's go for. So I would say that it is a little high. It depends on what kind of shape it is in, and stuff like whether or not the gear ratio is to your liking. I have seen non-disc braked eb d44's go for $80 including the arms and coils on ebay. But that may have been without axle shafts.
But as they say, if it is worth it to you, then it's a good deal. ;) I spent a bit more than that for mine. :roll

The thing I am thinking about is the Disc brakes. If I get one that is Drum Brakes I would have to convert it. Cant that get expensive?

Yes, adding disc breaks gets mucho expensive. That alone would probably cost 300+ So if you look at it that way, it's a good deal. Good luck on your auction.

Congrats on the purchase!

Don't rush on those roof bars, Conyl might be able to get me some. Actually, he says his Navajo rack will work on mine but I don't think so, what do you think?

Ok,

I have my 44 planned out and I am Going to tear down the Housing and have TAG cut it down and I am going to put it together my self.

I plan to buy warn shafts and CTMs. Where is the best place to buy warn shafts and CTMs?

I have my Shopping list made out.

Right outer Right inner Left inner Left outer
38816 38810 39143 38816
9.72" 27.94" 18.31" 9.72"

This set up will be the Exact same width as Randall's 44

hey Randall,

I was reading your Write up on the explorer forums. And in your Post you said that you cut your Housing down 5.85" When I took the Measurement of the Full with to EB Axleshaft the difference was 5.97" Is this .12" going to make a big difference. What amoutn should I have TAG cut the Housing down too?

You didn't know they were $185? I'll probably still get them :)

Yes, I cut mine down 5.85. You, however, should cut yours down 5.97, so you can use eb shafts. I was given bad information when I had mine cut, and instead had it cut to an eb d30 axle, which is where 5.85 comes from. I now have to get a custom shaft made on the passenger side, discouraging, since that was what I was trying to avoid in the first place.

I wouldn't really say that they have set closing times, but I would try to be there before two or so. Best thing would probably be to call ahead. Unfortunately, I have to work this Saturday :(

That sucks I started this Week and they were soo happy Up Front they said they have been needed some one good to work up front. During Orintation I was Told we are getting 7 Trucks a Week right now and Lawn and Garden is as sniffing glue as it can get... From what I am use to Head Cashier is going to be simple.

I will see what kind of schedule I get this next week and I will see when you and me can run up there.

That's one thing you'll have to get used to. Everyone on the floor only counts the distribution trucks as 'trucks' so saying seven a week doesn't sound like a whole lot, but we usually receive 25-35 trucks daily. Since I have to work this saturday, I will be getting a day off during the week next week. Let me know what days you are off and we'll try and swing something.
